Robaim Tivea Prapey
(The Childrens’ Dance or Glorious Day Dance)

Learning the art of the Cambodian classical
dance starts at a very early age. In these formative
years, the youngest students learn the fundamentals of
synchronized choreography inherent to this dance form.
Such is the case with our next dance, the Robaim
Tivea Prapey...the Glorious Day Dance.

The lyric accompanying the dance speaks to themes of
nationalism and solidarity.

For the observer, it is an opportunity to see our
youngest performer begin a life-long journey in
the study of the dance. It is enjoyable, entertaining
and a reminder of how precious our children are...
for they hold in their hands a tradition and a
culture passed down from one generation to the next.
With them, the dance is passed to a new
century and a new Millennium.
